06:33 pm - The New Girls
Alright, so I'm making this as a collaboration with my dear friend Marcus from youbettawork.wordpress.com/
He is launching a project involving photographing/interviewing the rising new faces of high-fashion modeling, and has employed me (and my model-encyclopedia brain) to basically scout out these girls.
These women may have enjoyed a bit of success already, but are not yet totally established. More on the cusp.
This is a forecast.

IMG MODELS

Bara Holotova - A former Prada exclusive, super directional.

Mia Aminata Niara - Lots of great runway so far, not much editorial. New favorite of mine--she's so elegant.

Gaye McDonald - She's not necessarily new (been in the game since 2007), but a selective, blue chip SS10 season points to big things.

Odelia Hoholko - Fresh off a closing spot/exclusive for Jil Sander during the FW09 season. What next?

Sharon Kavjian - A Russel Marsh darling for SS10. An incredibly new look.

Sacha Blue - A classic beauty. She had an incredibly selective FW10 season, but is obviously being watched by some important people.

Women

Alexa Yudina - SO RENAISSANCE. She's walked some highly selective, prestigious shows (Miu Miu resort and FW10, Calvin Klein resort, Rodarte, Dolce and Gabbana), but has yet to score any major editorial. Only a matter of time...

Ginta Lapina - Twiggy meets Donatella. Stellar SS10 season.

Valeria Dmitrienko - Just beginning to hit her stride after a few seasons with some killer runway bookings for FW10. Her beauty ed for Vogue Nippon last year may lead to more.

Mirte Maas - Was absolutely everywhere during SS10, walking nearly every major show (nothing less and nothing more). Apparently she's already booked some impressive editorial as well.

Regina Feoktistova - Since her surprise appearance in Vogue Paris after a few quiet seasons, her booking list has steadily risen in the ranks.

Frida Gustavsson - One of the top newcomers of the season, Frida booked every blue chip show imaginable for FW10. After hitting the ground running, her progression seems unstoppable.

Jenny Sinkaberg - After debuting at Balenciaga in Paris for FW10, she's already booked an editorial for Dazed and Confused. Good start!

Sona Matufkova  - After closing Calvin Klein, Sona was the name on everyone's lips.

Supreme

Antonella Graef - Has made two runway appearances: opening Givenchy Huate Couture and then opening Givenchy RTW. No editorial yet. Enough said.

Maddie Welch - Yet to even set foot on a runway, and the Imagist is already singing her praises.

Stasya Izyumova - After a debut at Givenchy huate couture, Supreme seems to be keeping her profile low/developing her for a total launch.

Kate Kosushkina - Super youthful new girl fresh off of the closing spot at Prada FW10. Big things.

Alice Gibb - I'M NOT GIVING YOU AN OPTION, MARKOOS. Seriously though, she's been gaining momentum since she graduated high school.

Ty States - Completely new face. Nothing yet. So pristine...

Reina Montero - Also brand new. Super-edgy, for lack of a better term.

Next

Kelsey van Mook - Since her opening spot at Givenchy for FW10, she's been on the rise.

Nicola Haffmans - Angular beauty came out of nowhere for an esteemed SS10 runway outing.

Valerija Kelava - Hard-edged and serene, she became the SS10's go-to cool girl with an opening spot at Christopher Kane and a closing spot at Rodarte.

Thea Stratton - A bizarre, Frida-Kahlo like presence earned her a Givenchy exclusive for FW10. What else lies in store for a girl as singular as she?

Mathilde Frachon - This sophisticated French doll had a successful SS10 season after gaining momentum during the FW season before.

Pernille Moeller - This tall and unique newcomer has had a good few seasons, her offbeat look appealing to a vast array of blue chip clients.

DNA

Nastasia Ohl - This exotic Calvin Klein exclusive for SS10, in my opinion, has boundless potential.

Hind Sahli - Garnered enormous buzz during the SS10 season because of her natural beauty and surprising Moroccan heritage.

Kelli Lumi - With an angular beauty that is both classic and strange, Kelli has garnered increasingly high-status bookings over the past few seasons.

Elise Hélène Gatschene - This charming French redhead has been on the all right runways during the past few seasons.

Rosie Tupper - After scoring the DKNY campaign fro FW10, this adorable Aussie's star can only continue to rise.

Marilyn

Lindsey Wixon - She requires no introduction.

Katlin Aas - She doesn't really require one either. This unique, intellectual brunette managed to turn her Prada exclusive from FW10 into lucrative catwalk bookings the following season.

Yulia Leontieva - This striking beauty (with phenomenal eyebrows!), while she hasn't gotten any major editorial work, continues to show up at the most coveted of runways with the most discerning castings.

R'el Dade - Pre-season buzz propelled her into a dizzying casting list for her first runway outing of SS10.

Thana Kunen - Thana classic, Avedon-era beauty mixed with an edgy bone structure has charmed clients across the board. She opened Dior Haute Couture and closed Haider Ackermann ready-to-wear for SS10.

Nastya Karzan - Eerie and stunning, Nastya should do very well after her Givenchy exclusive for SS10.

Elite

Hannah Holman - Scoring the FW09 Miu Miu campaign before ever setting foot on a runway, Hannah Holman started with only the best and never looked back.

Chistina Carey - Highly underrated, and a total classic beauty. After a few seasons of quiet bookings (she's made appearances at Rad Hourani and Issey Miyake) and a contract with Shiseido cosmetics, she opened Ralph Lauren for FW10. With powerhouse backing like that...

Lisanne de Jong - Lisanne's pure, clean beauty earned her a coveted spot in the Russel Marsh newcomer camp for FW10. A Prada exclusive in Milan, she resurfaced in Paris for two shows. She walked Balenciaga and open Miu Miu. Impressive.

Major

Kristy Kaurova - Feline beauty. She walked Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, Givenchy, McQueen, and Miu Miu. Not many bookings, but only the best.

Muse

Alina Zaharia - She's been walking for a few seasons now, and her momentum continues to mount. After closing D&G a few seasons ago and walking Givenchy last season, the best seems yet to come.

Georgie Badiel - For the past few seasons, her blue chip runway bookings have been numerous and consistent. She seems as if on the cusp of translating her success on the runway to editorial stardom.

Nana Keita - Androgynous and completely fierce, Nana's runways picked up this season with bookings at Chado Ralph Rucci and Juan Carlos Obando. It's only a matter of time before her unique appeal catches on with casting directors in high places.

Shea Moulton - Thid Jamaican stunner has one of the best bodies in ages. She caused a stir this season after booking Calvin Klein, and went on to walk Louis Vuitton in Paris.

ONE

Debora Muller - You rarely see a model who radiates kindness, but Debora does just that. That's not to discredit her hardcore FW10 bookings at Celine, Rad Hourani, Miu Miu, and Dries van Noten, however.

Charlotte di Calypso - With a minimalistic sort of beauty, Charlotte was in all right places for FW '10. She walked a slew of blue chip shows, and opened Karl Lagerfeld. A considerable blessing...

Janete Friedrich - Strange and one-of-a-kind, Janete has earned some high marks from a selective shortlist of clients. With \ a two-season Rad Hourani exclusive and two Vogue Italia Beauty features within 6 months, Janete is slowly but surely climbing the ladder.
